Most Precious Blood- Merciless

MPB is, in my opinion, one of the most slept on bands in hardcore. This record is heavy from start to finish, and out of all of the people who I know that listen to this genre of music, not that many people are into this record... It's a shame, really, on account of how good it is. This album has one of the most epic beginning 30 seconds, and that epic-ness only carries on throughout the record. Anti-religion charged anthems pump through this record, MPB has a message to spread and they're most definitely not afraid.
If you hate God and love hardcore... Download this CD.
Even if you love God, I'm sure you can still appreciate how heavy this CD is.

Quotables:
"Master your fear."

"Crippled by selective memory, choose which lie to believe."

"Do you believe in Hell below? Do you fear a God above? Soul-searching on empty streets. You can shove your fucking love."

No Warning- Ill Blood

I've finally decided to up this. This is arguably the best record released by Toronto hardcore legends, No Warning. Every song is hard, every song is mad, every song is amazing. This record is through and through hardcore at it's finest. Ben Cook makes everything sound so much angrier, combined with his "hate-the-world" lyrics, this CD makes you want to mosh or be moshed. No Warning is probably one of the most recognized hardcore outfits to ever come out of Toronto, so download this record and get into it.
If you don't know, act like you know.
Also, if you're familiar with bands such as Guns Up! and Cold World, they both ripped on No Warning pretty hard so if you like them, then you should definitely be into this record.

Quotables:
"Everybody knows, everybody talks, everybody sees but no one's saying nothing."

"Never forget, never forgive."

Immortal Technique- Revolutionary Volume 1

This record is undeniably heavy. Heavy, not in the sense in which I would usually use on this blog, but in the sense that each song on this record hits home, one way or another. Whether it be Immortal lyrically insulting the listener on the opening track "Creation and Destruction" or the story told in dramatic fashion on the song "Dance With The Devil". Either way, this record is Hip Hop at it's finest, if you're into well constructed, well executed records of rap music, you'll be into this record. This is probably one of my favourite Immortal Technique records to date, although his newest record is pretty absurd, as well. Listen to this, though, I promise you won't be let down.

Quotables:
"Immortal Technique, the wrong motherfucker to diss. 'Cause I allowed God to let you motherfuckers exist."

"Remember something, nigga, while you rave and rant. A roach can live for 9 days without it's head but you can't."

There's really too many quotables to count. Listen closely to it all, it's all quotable material.

To Cherish- In Sickness And In Health

To Cherish.
Now this is a band that I've been watching grow since I was about.. 15 or 16 years old. And having watched them grow, I can inform you that this is a very impressive release for them. This record is catchy, fast, and heavy. Highlights for me are the song "In Health" featuring guest vocals of the very sexy, Matt Tobin. I find it kind of lulls in some of the softer, more melodic parts and it sort of brings the feel of the entire record down. The heavy parts, though, send chills down my spine. This is a local band, so download the CD, go buy it a show or buy a t-shirt or whatever the fuck bands are selling these days.
Either way, this is certainly a long way from Hugs and High Fives.

Stay Gold- Pills And Advice

You may or may not know that I'm a pretty large Killing The Dream fan. So, I took it upon myself to explore one of their largest influences, Stay Gold. AT very first listen, you can definitely tell they were a large influence for KTD. This is a great cd, although I prefer the angry yell of KTD, this record is still really good. Melodic hardcore at it's finest. This is one of their newer records, as soon as I get my hands on some of the older stuff, you br0000z will too.
Get into it.

The Banner- Frailty

This record is bad-ass. Doom, down, heavy and creepy. Gothic hardcore band, The Banner, shows their true colours on this release. The CD sounds heavy in so many different aspects, from the creepy, almost haunting beginning of the song "The Wolf" to the melodic and powerful, "Dusk". This CD is a must listen-to. If you have any stigma about this band, whatsoever, throw it aside.. Because I can guarantee you this record will blow your mind, if it's in your genre-preference of music.
Big upzzzz, The Banner.

Quotables-
"Nothing forgiven, nothing forgot."

Trash Talk- Walking Disease

Angry.
One word to describe the band Trash Talk.
Pissed off hardcore from Sacramento, California, this band has a lot to offer anybody who wants to hear something mad, thrashy and fast. This record contains so many pissed off youth, shout-along anthems such as "Walking Disease" and "Sacramento is Dead". They blend fast thrashy beats with catchy, heavy build-ups a la earlier Ringworm CD's. Listen to this if you feel like punching somebody in the face and it will probably give you the motivation to do so.
Get mad.

Quotables-
"Fuck you, we are the walking disease"

"I am pure fucking evil."

Smashing Pumpkins- Siamese Dream

This was Smashing Pumpkins' second full LP release and arguably, one of my favourites. They came out with this in 1993 and registered a revolutionary sound within the mainstream music stream. I find that this record is probably one of the easiest Pumpkins' records to listen to as it's one of the heavier/more catchy CD's. I'm sure there is tracks that all of you will recognize, such as "Today" and "Disarm", both great tracks... But make sure to listen to the CD in its entirety. This CD has so much to offer and it is often under-rated.

Check it out, for sure.

A New Year

Okay, so I know that lately I've been lacking on the blog updates.
Probably just because I'm working a lot and the holidays and blah, blah, blah, I don't want to bore you with excuses on how I haven't upped any music lately.
Anyways, it's a new year.
So, with that I'd like to start consistently upping music for you all to check out!
Check back often, and I'll probably up the blog on Facebook whenever I do put new stuff up.
So keep your eyes/ears open!

WOOO!
