Blacklisted- Our Youth Is Wasted EP

There's not much I can say about this band, the music basically speaks for itself. Hardcore, and dare I say a tiny bit of a bluesy influence? No, I won't... But you can sort of hear that, especially in the newer record which I will up at a later date. I know I say this a lot, but this band is one of my favourites. And this is also one of my favourite EP's that Blacklisted has put out. Angry music with great lyrics, well composed...
I could sing this band's praises for days.
Just listen to it and hear for yourself.

Quotables

"I faced an army of myself and I failed."

"Don't care about my generation.
Don't care if I stand or fall.
Don't care about my reputation.
I'm chasing aspirations I never saw."

Valencia- We All Need A Reason To Believe

This is the band's second full length. It's not necessarily leaps and bounds from their first album... But I'd definitely say this band has grown. A little bit more mature sounding, Valencia releases this cd with a little bit less of a powerpop feel and a little bit more of a rock sounding record. Could it be they're trying to go mainstream? Who knows. They still swear, so that's cool. One thing that turns me off from this record is a lot of the lyrics sounds super uplifting and positive, and it might just be the pessimist in me, but I usually like hearing sad and/or angry songs. I guess it's sort of hard to make depressing powerpop music, so I'll cut them some slack. Other than that, this is a solid cd.

A Rocket To The Moon- Greetings From...

So, to be honest, I don't really know much about this guy. I found his cd on this powerpop blogspot I check every now and then when I'm in the mood for catchy, fun music... And that's exactly what I found. From what I can gather, A Rocket To The Moon used to be one dude who just made acoustic/electro powerpop type stuff... But on his latest release, Greetings From..., he's recorded with an entire band. Although, there are some weak parts in the songs, for the most part this is super catchy, super good powerpop. Check it out, for sure.
